Vontier Sr. Product Manager in Des Moines, Iowa

The Senior Product Manager POS (point-of-sales) will be responsible for product planning and execution, including but not limited to assessing customer needs, analyzing market trends, and acting on customers' behalf to prioritize product requirements. The Product Manager will serve as the contextual expert defining the product vision, working collaboratively with engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure that projects are delivered, and revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager’s (PM) responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for our POS and SCO (self-checkout) software products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to deliver high-quality products that meet market needs.

  • Engage with customers and conduct market research to identify new features and opportunities for innovation.

  • Prioritize product backlog and manage the lifecycle of new product features from conception to launch.

  • Analyze performance metrics and use data-driven insights to drive product improvements.

  • Act as a product evangelist, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and with key clients.

  • Create business cases for new products/features

  • Travel to meet with customers, stakeholders, and to gather market insights.

  • 5+ years of product management experience in the software industry, with a strong preference for candidates with POS software experience in the convenience and retail fuel sector.

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.

  • Strong technical background with an understanding of software development and web technologies.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex problems.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Be willing to travel as needed, up to 30% of the time.

The base compensation range for this position is $118K to $170K per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
