CBRE is seeking a Green Building Certification Consultant to work as a technical resource as part of our Building Consultancy team. The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of project work related to sustainability and wellness building certification projects. We are looking for qualified candidates nationwide as this position will work remotely. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working independently.
This position will work remotely.
Candidate shall demonstrate a successful history of advancing projects from conception through certification through experience communicating sustainable strategies to clients, consultants, and contractors through Third-Party Certification project checklists, project manual/technical specification sections, and construction drawings.
Experience with a variety of project delivery methods, and a familiarity with a variety of geographically diverse design conditions is preferred. LEED Administration experience with multiple LEED Green Building Rating Systems v4 is required, including:
LEED for New Construction & Major Renovations, Commercial Interiors, Core and Shell, Existing Buildings, Operations & Maintenance
At a minimum, candidate is to have served as LEED AP with specialty on multiple certified projects in the last 24 months and should hold at least one LEED with Specialty credential in either ID+C or BD+C.
WELL AP credentials with relevant project experience is required
Other Third-Party Rating systems include: Fitwel, Fitwel Viral Response, WELL Health-Safety Rating, Green Globes, BREEAM In-Use, Energy Star
Experience reporting to GRESB, CDP and performing GHG Inventory is required Working knowledge of SASB, TCFD and other reporting standards, preferred
Continue to develop fluent knowledge of GHG accounting and disclosure expectations and the latest methodologies and standards. Educate and advise both internal and external stakeholders on climate change and GHG accounting, translating complex information into understandable and actionable insight
Develop and propose potential solutions that resolve complex business problems and meet or exceed client expectations, including decarbonization levers to drive net zero achievement
Understanding of the climate change policy and regulatory landscape as well as wider ESG reporting and disclosure landscape
Experience with net zero initiatives and different frameworks (SBTI’s, CRREEM, etc.)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify strategies and solutions for clients that improve the performance and sustainability of the built environment, develop a project-appropriate sustainability and/or health and wellbeing strategies.
Evaluate, track and report status of third-party certification projects from concept through construction, and manage documentation including reviewer comments. Complete tasks based on project schedule and project plan allowing for quality control and feedback to be completed.
Communicate sustainability requirements and obligations to other team members, both internal and external. Interface directly with clients to report ongoing project status and next steps.
Lead monthly coordination meetings with contractors to assist them in the completion of - required documentation and achievement of their required credits and optimizations.
Review project documents (drawings, specifications, product submittals) for compliance with certification requirements. Review construction phase submittals.
Research materials submittal packages for compliance with program requirements.
Write reports communicating certification and provide recommendations for improved building performance.
Manage multiple projects independently, under the guidance of senior teammates; and support senior teammates on complex projects.
Manage and analyze environmental performance data including energy, water, and waste utility consumption and costs; benchmark performance; and monitor and interpret performance trends.
Independently manage your time to stay on track with billable activities, within project budgets and time allocations, and project prioritizations.
Participate in monthly invoicing and financial projections for all project-related work.
Exercise judgement and self-prioritize assignments daily, identifying and communicating issues before they become problems.
Develop strong relationships among staff through superior written and verbal communications strategies. Develop relationships with client contacts, such as property teams.
Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
Support client deliverable processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Function as a highly productive team member in interdisciplinary groups that include technical and non-technical staff.
Support identification and coordination of ESG projects and initiatives at property and portfolio levels. Examples include energy and water efficiency technology deployment, implementation of operational best practices, and strategic outreach/messaging campaigns.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Environmental Science, Real Estate or related field
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
8+ years professional experience managing green and wellness building certification projects
8+ years managing data and project-related activities
Experience with life cycle analyses preferred
Understanding of architectural working drawings and specifications, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems is required.
Familiarity with the construction process, design process and project management
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
LEED AP with a specialty designation required
WELL AP required
BREEAM USA In-Use Assessor License preferred

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Project Manager position is $90000 annually and the maximum salary for the Project Manager position is $110000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
