Principal Financial Group Sr Retention Consultant - Stock Plan Services in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We're looking for Sr. Retention Consultant to come up with an unbiased strategy to retain ESOP clients within the firm. An in-depth review of the client is performed; pricing is reviewed and relationships are leveraged (Sales, CRM team, Sales Leadership, RFP team, etc) to determine what the retention strategy should be. In this role you'll present our story to the client alongside the Relationship Managers and Consultants in competitive RFP situations.

  • Strategically positions Principal in the retention process by customizing the approach with client knowledge gained by performing a thorough administrative review and implementing the finals strategy.

  • Ensures strategic and thorough communication between service team and client/advisor throughout the process.

  • Responsible for sharing deal specific, real time best practices across the sales teams and relationship management.

  • Uses existing consultant relations team, sales representative relationships, and at times, develop own relationships, with advisor and/or consultant in an effort to accurately understand the situation and improve the likelihood to retain.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience

  • Must have 5+ years of retirement sales experience with strong technical expertise in one or a combination of defined contribution, defined benefit, non-qualified or Trust & Custody products

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Must have strong understanding of industry, portfolio construction, capital markets, financial service products and regulations

  • Role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills, leadership skills, advanced analytical skills regarding pricing and different plan designs, presentation skills, negotiation skills, relationship building, time management skills and knowledge of business unit and company products

  • Must have the ability to project manage highly complex projects/RFPs

  • Must have the ability to travel as required

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$123000 - $167000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
