This is a non-merit position with the Iowa Judicial Branch. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.
Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Education, this position will perform professional-level legal duties and education assessments, designs, delivery, and evaluations for professional and substantive training programs for judicial branch personnel.
Responds to open records requests.
Performs educational and legal research of laws, legal opinions, policies, regulations, legal texts, and legal precedents.
Completes legal research and prepares reports or memoranda with conclusions and recommendations.
Creates, reviews, and updates policies and procedures, manuals, and other legal materials consistent with existing policies, strategic plans, and state law.
Draft and reviews contracts, agreements, orders, memorandums, RFPs, and other reports or forms.
Project manage Education Committees to meet identified deliverables.
May serve as a point of contact for grant administration,
Uses adult learning principles to create the most appropriate and effective experience for the topic, audience, and delivery method.
Measure education project's performance to identify areas for improvement and growth.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in Iowa.
Experience equal to three years of full-time work in the practice of law, including experience as a law clerk.
Final candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
