MercyOne Central Iowa operates four not-for-profit Catholic medical centers in Des Moines West Des Moines Newton and Centerville and two specialty hospitals – MercyOne Children’s Hospital in Des Moines and MercyOne Rehabilitation Hospital in Clive (965 beds total) – along with more than 20 additional facilities that house more than 50 primary care pediatric internal medicine and specialty clinics. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1893 MercyOne Central Iowa has the longest continually operating hospital in Des Moines and is also one of the largest employers in the state with more than 7000 employees and a medical staff of more than 1000 physicians and allied health associates. Oversees daily operations and assignments of work orders for both medical centers and applicable outlying Mercy One properties.
Data entry included but not limited to the Facility One work order system. Creates, changes, WO’s, PM’s, and organizes and distributes them to staff. Create; remove new users in work order system.
Responsible for facilitating the ordering/repairing and maintenance of equipment
Assists Facilities Director in the development and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets
Assists the Facilities Director with the coding/processing of invoices and timecards
Assists Facilities Director with performance evaluations and all other personnel matters
Assists Facility Compliance Coordinator in creating and maintaining regulatory documents for JCAHO, Fire Marshall and other regulatory bodies
Maintains clean and safe environment.
Responsible for the training/maintenance/operation of a fully functioning fire alarm system, Automatic Doors, Elevators, Pneumatic Tube System, etc and other misc equipment used to sustain the hospital.
Ability to run the department when the Facilities Director is out of the department
Provides Customer Loyalty development and coaches others in these skills.
High school degree or GED, some college preferred
Computer knowledge including but not limited to Outlook and internet skills.
Three (3) years general maintenance experience in a healthcare environment required
Associate/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with supervised employees and with management
Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, with accident free driving record for last three years and at least 18 years of age.
Proof of current personal automobile insurance as required by Iowa law
