Eaton Corporation Technical Solution Training Specialist in Des Moines, Iowa

Eaton’s Marketing Commercial Operations is currently seeking a Commercial Construction/CRDSCPA Division Technical Solution Training Specialist. The preferred location is within driving distance to an Eaton’s Satellite or sales office. Frequent travel is required and will constitute up to 50% of the applicant’s annual schedule.

Position Overview:

The Commercial Construction/CRDSCPA Technical Solutions Training Specialist designs, develops, markets, delivers and manages instructor-led and virtual instructor-led sessions using a systematic approach of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.

In this function you will:

  • Work closely with MCO Sales Enablement, NAS field sales, product line, channel marketing, and Eaton University teams to identify strategic initiatives that will enhance the training program.

  • Partner with the field sales, product line, channel, and marketing teams to ensure the training program is effective, supports business strategy, improves communication and enables greater access to product information while supporting Eaton’s financial goals and values.

  • Provide consultative services to the Sales Enablement Experience Creators in identifying and implementing alternative and e-Learning materials that complement the curriculum of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and web courses.

  • Responsible for class administration and preparation, including but not limited to developing a training plan, scheduling, set-up, enrollment, travel, demo equipment, activity materials, courseware, assessments, evaluation, and follow-up.

  • Create, maintain and update training materials including instructor-led, virtual instructor led, train-the-trainer PowerPoint presentations, and other segment focused training materials.

  • Provide regular feedback to training stakeholders, achieve program metric goals, track program data, compile reports and actively seek cost saving and productivity improvement opportunities.

  • Offer interactive courses that meet learning objectives to sell and support electrical products and services in the Commercial Construction/CRDSCPA market segment.

  • Without accommodation, must be able to lift, move and set-up demo equipment and move demo cases on wheels which can weigh in excess of 60 lbs.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment which includes sharing best practices with other training specialist, and those engaged in training creation or delivery.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum five years electrical industry experience

  • Must be able to travel frequently by air – travel will constitute up to 50% of annual schedule

  • Minimum three years’ experience with distribution and/or wholesalers

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Has detailed knowledge of electrical distribution and related communication and metering systems, channel partners, specifiers, and customers, as well as a familiarity with the basic form, fit, and function of related products within the market segment.

  • Familiar with existing, and ability to rapidly learn new, CPA product configuration tools and an ability to transfer those skills to NAS, sales representatives and key channel partners

  • Possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or Industrial Distribution

  • Has spent at least three years in construction project sales

  • Possess exceptional presentation skills

  • Experience in facilitation, instructional design, and adult learning principals

  • Knowledgeable of applicable standards and core requirements (NEC, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, UL, etc.)

The expected annual salary range for this role is $87,200 - $119,900 a year.
