Job Summary

Black & Veatch is looking for candidates that have innovative technology experience across B2C, B2B, B2E, or B2B2C ecosystems. We need someone who can move faster than the pace of business, while still maintaining the standard of excellence; someone who can innovate along with innovative partners; someone who can leverage digital technology to help disrupt the status quo.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new technologies and build core technology capabilities.

  • Prove out the viability of new technology approaches for innovation projects.

  • Prove out the viability of new technology approaches to create a more agile environment.

  • Align the technology roadmaps with business and IT leaders.

  • Research emerging technologies and digital trends to identify opportunities for strategic impact.

  • Lead POCs for emerging and foundational technologies.

  • Create emerging technology strategies to solve complex business strategic goals.

  • Support solution development and deliveries as necessary.

  • Guide and sometimes drive the evaluation of third-party software solutions.

  • Be Curious. Be Flexible. Collaborative

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with business functions to leverage technologies and create innovative digital products and services.

  • Confirm that solutions and deliveries meet client expectations.

  • Actively participate on and contribute to IT governance bodies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate a “test, learn, iterate” approach to emerging technology adoption.

  • Participate in the creation of project, program, product, and solution plans, timelines, milestones, goals and ownership.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of software development

  • A minimum of 2 years as a Software Development Lead

  • Significant knowledge of areas of software engineering, software architecture, data architecture, systems architecture, and data management required. Additional knowledge of network architecture preferred.

  • Recent development experience with at least two of the following: Node.js, Java, C#, or Python.

  • Hands-on experience in technologies related to RPA, ML, AR, VR, IoT, blockchain.

  • Experience in at least two of the following: Azure Cloud, AWS Cloud, Google Cloud.

  • Awareness of Privacy regulations.

  • Solid experience with data security and privacy technologies and processes.

  • Experience building and supporting mission critical applications.

  • Expertise in agile application development methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently research and implement technology.

  • Experience analyzing and resolving systems and application issues.

  • Experience evaluating risk against cost, scope, time, and available resources.

  • Effective communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree. Business, Technology or Computer Science and MBA preferred.

Experience: 8-10 years experience.
