Co-op services Credit Union VP, Learning & Organizational Effectiveness in Des Moines, Iowa

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talentedVP, Learning & Organizational Effectivenessto oversee all operations within the organization's learning, development, and organizational effectiveness functions. Primarily responsible for setting the strategic vision, direction, goal setting, and execution for the Learning and Organizational Effectiveness function in alignment with organizational objectives. Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization's long-term success.

  • This position isflexibly-remote. That means that this position is currently remote due to COVID. Once we make the transition back into the office, there may be flexibility for a hybrid schedule of both remote and in-office work.

What You Can Look Forward to

  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.

  • Sets the strategic objectives for the Learning and Organizational Effectiveness organization, and executes against goals and objectives.

  • Provides leadership for a learning environment which is conducive to the provision of development and education for all employees, trainees and students.

  • Directs the assessment of skill gaps or training needs, the creation of training content or materials, and the coordination and delivery or training sessions.

  • Develops and implements organizational learning policies and programs.

  • Measures and reports on the success of learning programs.

  • Develops and implements CO-OP’s culture strategy, serving as architect and champion to help the organization achieve our strategic priorities around constructive culture, leader development, and internal capability.

  • Responsible for growing CO-OP’s culture through diversity, equity, and inclusion engagement efforts.

  • Provides consulting, design, and facilitation in planning, building, and maintaining high leverage organization capabilities.

  • Uses diagnostic tools and processes to conduct or direct the conduct of organizational assessments.

  • Works with leadership to provide leadership development and solve organizational issues.

  • Provides technical advice, tools, techniques, and coaching in the areas of organization effectiveness, leadership, and CO-OP’s key behaviors and leadership cornerstones.

  • Provides consulting expertise on major organizational development and change initiatives.

  • Manages specific change projects to include design, development, execution, and implementation.

  • Drives culture and strategies to establish an optimized employee experience.

  • In conjunction with HR leadership team partners drives employee engagement strategies.

  • Facilitates a culture of performance and accountability in leadership and serves as consultant to drive change and improvements.

  • Contributes to the institution knowledge of the latest people strategy trends, practices and state-of- the-art technology to facilitate the best employee experience and optimized workforce.

  • Provides overall leadership, direction and coordination for all operating areas and teams within range of responsibility.

  • Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management. Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Master's degree in adult learning and education, organizational development, industrial psychology, human resources, or related field desired.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management/supervisory level experience in human resources in a complex and progressive human resources environment is required.

  • Experience in on site and virtual working environment is strongly preferred.

  • Deep knowledge in the areas of organization development, culture and organizational change, curriculum development, adult learning, learning and organizational assessment, leadership and talent development, innovative working styles, learning styles, and program design and delivery.
