Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

As a Warehouse Worker, you will be responsible for pulling customer orders based on invoices and tickets, assisting the burn table operator in pulling product for orders, and reorganizing material in 'monkey racks'. Your daily tasks include bending over/on knees/and walking most of the day to pull orders, moving around in the 'monkey racks', getting up and down off of the racks of steel to assist with moving orders, and using large cranes to move large steel orders. You will also utilize a color system that the company uses to organize raw material based on the thickness of cuts of steel. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks and working with customers if they come and pick up orders themselves. A typical day will consist of coordinating with management about orders and material and then getting started on tasks, which can include reorganizing raw material, helping customers, loading trucks for morning orders, and other detail-oriented tasks. Prioritizing tasks and excellent customer service are paramount.

Work Environment

You will be working in a loud and dirty environment due to the product, with a lot of distractions due to customers coming and orders coming in and out. The warehouse environment consists of stacks of steel and racks that hold materials. Overhead cranes are used to move much of the heavy steel product. The environment can be hot in the summers and colder in the winters. Shift hours are 1st shift - 7am-4pm. You will be part of a smaller team size, fluctuating between 15-20 depending on the time of year, and working mostly independently. Dress code includes jeans (no shorts for safety reasons), steel-toed boots, and work-appropriate attire.
