Working Foreman - Distribution

We are searching for an experienced Working Foreman - Distribution at our Generic Location facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Summary: The Distribution Foreman/Working Foreman is responsible for working with, and supervising crew members by ensuring safety, productivity, compliance with company policies & procedures, standard industry requirements and design standards. They will also need to perform job duties described in the Distribution Journeyman Lineman job description.

Specific duties:

Safety and Accountabilities:

  • Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.

  • Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.

  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) are conducted before scopes of work commence.

  • Adheres to and ensures all crew team members understand standard operating procedures.

  • Ensures new hires receive job and task-specific training prior to work commencing.

  • Leads and support the crew team in safety, technical and quality, utilizing systems in place.

  • Follows safety & security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions.

  • Uses equipment, tooling, and materials properly.

Client Relationship Management Accountabilities:

  • Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client’s expectations.

Planning:

  • Utilizes and direct crew members for daily construction activities.

  • Identifies potential workflow and staffing issues.

  • Understands OH Distribution and MV circuit installation. Including the ability to read and interpret customer construction drawings and specifications.

  • Translates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan and communicates it to the crew members responsible for each activity.

  • Assigns tasks and oversees the execution of the work including safety, quality, and production.

Leadership:

  • Directs, guides, and coaches crew members to ensure activities on site are understood and following established processes through quality checks.

  • Follows processes for systems and communication lines on site and ensure implementation is consistent.

  • Assists with managing Craft personnel.

  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Ensures that project is utilizing Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Managements Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and technical procedures.

  • Inspects and measures completed work.

  • Tracks work completed every day and updates project activity trackers accordingly.

  • Recognizes addresses and resolves issues among crew members.

Construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.

Anticipated Rate: $43-$48 per hour

Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment.
