Kemin Industries Worldwide Finance & Accounting Manager in Des Moines, Iowa

Overview

Kemin has a new, exciting opportunity to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa as a Worldwide Finance & Accounting Manager! The Worldwide Accounting & Finance Manager will collaborate with others on strategic financial analysis for new investments, as well as lead Accounting and Financial reporting for existing investments in startup and growth stages of the business life cycle, having a direct impact on Kemin's future success. This role will directly impact Kemin's strategic global financial investment decisions and provide business maturity to the financial reporting for the current investments.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have strong financial acumen, able to prioritize workloads, and have flexibility and communication skills to work with other global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Planning

  • Market research that aligns with potential capital investments.

  • Support other team members on frequent ad-hoc financial analysis projects.

  • Data aggregation from multiple internal and external sources.

  • Financial modeling of internal and external capital investments.

  • Calculate, understand, and communicate financial return metrics of capital investments.

  • Provide monthly analysis on performance including financial, regional, product, and consolidated global performance.

  • Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial packages timely and accurately.

  • Collaborate with other team members of growth stage on monthly financial packages outside of North America.

  • Work with team to prepare accurate financial projections.

  • Perform requested analysis on regional and consolidated financials.

  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets.

  • Assist with audit activities including preparation of work papers for external and internal audits.

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting of fixed assets, and sales reporting.

  • Coordinate day-to-day general accounting and administrative responsibilities.

  • Ensure compliance of the Worldwide Accounting Manual.

  • Provide in depth analysis of business transactions, including but not limited to; pricing, profitability, customer accounts, OPEX, manufacturing costs, and sales scorecard.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 4-7 years of experience.

  • Experience in monthly financial reporting and accounting processes.

  • Understanding of cost accounting as it relates to the manufacturing industry.

  • Experience with Planful, M3, Power BI, and Power Quires preferred, but not required.

  • Ability to create and maintain relationships among a diverse group of people.

  • Clear communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to initiate problem solving.

  • Have interest in self-directed research of new potential markets and relating subject matter.
