PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE : The Managing Director - Global CR Operations strategically and actively enhances the Sedgwick colleague experience by optimizing CR service delivery via process/technology enablement and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), this role oversees CR systems, Shared Services, Payroll, Program/ Project Management, M&A activity and data integrity across the globe, including the teams that perform these services.

Oversee CR systems.

  • Lead day-to-day operations of talent systems such as Workday and ServiceNow.

  • Continuously evolve the global digital roadmap and governance structure for configurations, products and upgrades.

  • Deploy strategic CR data solutions in conjunction with internal CR, IT and business unit teams.

  • Optimize technology impact to minimize transactional CR activity.

  • Apply knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Manage vendor relationships and performance.

  • Look for opportunities to automate and integrate optimizing business processes and the CR Service Delivery model.

Lead CR shared services (CR Support, Employee Relations, Absence Management and Compliance)

  • Deliver centralized CR shared services transactions and processes in a timely, accurate and effective manner.

  • Execute against clear service levels that define expectations and create accountability for delivery of CR shared services.

  • Ensure that CR Policy and procedures are continuously reviewed and compliant.

  • Complete audit requests for entity-level controls and SOX compliance.

  • Establish protocols and tiered escalations; respond to issues and requests from colleagues, managers and the CR team.

Execute payroll.

  • Develop payroll strategy and the operating model within the context of a rapidly evolving Workday environment. Coordinate regional efforts towards global process standardization while allowing flexibility locally when required.

  • Provide tactical direction to the HR Payroll leads across the globe.

  • Drive controls and operational excellence including SOX oversight and controls and compliance programs.

  • Provide audit and oversight to the team's activities and processes, ensuring that pertinent internal and external compliance and government interaction standards are met.

  • Manage the global and/or regional payroll vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, consolidation, and management.

Continuously improve colleague-related transactional processes to reduce complexity, effort and risk.

  • Lead CR Program/ Project Management Office

  • Ensure that the team manages and documents work flows and provide education for CR practitioners.

  • Maintain the portfolio of key CR tasks and calendars to that work is performed efficiently.

  • Instill a Project Management systemic approach to how work is performed across CR including Centers of Expertise.

Represent CR during merger and acquisition activities.

  • Perform confidential due diligence actions.

  • Operate CR acquisition integration playbook to help ensure smooth assimilation into Sedgwick’s systems and culture.

  • Own the CR-related processes and project management for acquiring and divesting of business entities.

Ensure CR data integrity.

  • Collaborate with Sedgwick’s data organization to ensure CR data is accurate and timely updated.

  • Participate in global data governance activities.

  • Participate in internal and external CR data audits.


  • Bachelor's degree required; professional Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) designation or equivalent strongly preferred.

  • Fifteen years of human resources, legal, and/or management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills appropriate to all levels of the company.
