The university is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our facilities team in the role of Plumber-General Maintenance.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General knowledge of plumbing systems and plumbing repair.
Servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and installing water heaters, tubs, toilets, sink, faucets, showers, various valves, pipes, drains, water softeners.
Experience with installation, inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting/repair of commercial/residential pipe systems, such as water, gas, oil, sewer, washroom, and toilet facilities.
Maintains, repairs, and replaces equipment found in offices, classrooms, laboratories, and common areas, such as office equipment, furniture, shelving, chalkboards, whiteboards, tack boards, projection screens, classroom furniture, auditorium seats, athletic fixtures, and equipment.
Assist in setting and breaking special events.
Carries on call pager in rotation with other maintenance personnel.
Assist in snow removal.
Qualifications include:
The successful candidate must have:
High school diploma and/or GED, and four years general maintenance experience in an institutional/industrial setting.
Current State of Iowa Backflow Assembly Tester certification or the ability to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
