Your Responsibilities

As a Precision Construction Systems Engineer, within the Motor Grader team for the John Deere Construction and Forestry Division located in Dubuque, IA, you will lead development and integration of systems for grade control, motion measurement, vision, and object detection capabilities on the Deere Motor Grader platform. In addition, you will...

  • D efine technology features and coordinate with internal and external stakeholder teams

  • Collaborate with software and electrical systems to define requirements for technology subsystems

  • Develop current and future technology integration solutions

  • Track the development of technology against program targets

  • Coordinate the resolution of technology development issues

  • Provide support for software testing, machine evaluation, and customer evaluation

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in requirements engineering (gathering, writing, and reviewing)

  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems

  • Strong communications skills (written and oral) working within global cross-functional teams

  • Project Management Experience

  • Experience leading, prioritizing and implementing multiple projects simultaneously

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with Creo or similar CAD systems

  • Systems Engineering training or certification

  • Experience in electrical subsystem design and/or embedded software development

  • Fundamental understanding of C&F machine forms, their use, and competitive machines

  • Experience across multiple functional areas and/or products


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Agricultural, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline
