Hirschbach Motor Lines Regional Operations Manager in Dubuque, Iowa

Job Summary

The Regional Operations Manager works directly with the Spot Core Team located in Dubuque, Iowa in overseeing our various Spotting locations. Spot by Hirschbach provides unparalleled customized Yard Management Solutions which allow our customers to focus on what's happening within their buildings while we take care of everything occurring outside. These services include trailer spotting, integrated Yard Management Software (YMS), truck gate management, and more!

Substantial travel is involved with this position (estimated 50%), along with assisting all managers with support in all facets of operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining site visits.

  • Assisting Site Managers/Safety Managers with driver reviews and evaluating safety.

  • Collaborates closely with the Safety Manager on trainings and site reviews

  • Provides coverage to sites in case of site managers? absences

  • Works directly with Site Manager and Director of Spotting Services to ensure YMS is up

  • and running

  • Works with Sr. Operations Mgr. review the operational numbers by cost center

  • Responsible for reviewing with the Site Manager all KPI?s and the associated goals/expectations

    Talent Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent in education, paired with relevant professional experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.

  • Thorough operational process knowledge including an understanding of customer service philosophies and procedures and spotting services/dispatch philosophies and procedures.

  • Ability to communicate via e-mail, telephone, and face-to-face in clear, correct, and effective English.

  • Ability to persuade and cooperate with co-workers, keeping ?customer satisfaction and driver satisfaction? as guidelines.

  • Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and energy.

  • Computer proficiency and ability to navigate between multiple programs.

  • Displays and demonstrates an "All In to Win" attitude and performance including self motivation and a strong desire to learn within an unpredictable and demanding environment.

  • Class A CDL experience is preferred
