Responsible for providing technical Engineering support to all Plant departments. Manage capital projects and maintenance budgets. Set and deliver department strategy and goals and drive maintenance and reliability improvements. Responsible for identifying and solving equipment problems and ensuring reliability and maintainability of plant equipment in order to optimize performance, production, safety and maintain a low operating cost.

  • Manage Plant Maintenance and Engineering department

  • Manage and develop new construction projects from inception up to completion

  • Enhance cost of quality program fostering proactive maintenance planning and reduction failure cost

  • Coordinate capital project and maintenance activities utilizing contractors and in house Maintenance and Engineering personnel

  • Assist maintenance department in solving equipment problems causing equipment failure and downtime

  • Develop and implement major equipment upgrades during plant turnarounds

  • Communicate equipment problems or conditions to maintenance and operation personnel

  • Develop and manage multiple predictive maintenance programs RCM

  • Interact with other departments and provide engineering support

  • Assist all departments in solving safety problems

  • Establish expectation goals, and personnel performance improvement plans

  • Complete special assignments, if needed

  • Perform other duties as required


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years of actual plant experience in Projects and Maintenance Engineering


  • Fifteen (15) years of actual plant experience in Projects and Maintenance Engineering

  • Experience in maintenance of sulfuric acid plants and pyrometallurgical equipment

  • Knowledge of SAP enterprise resource system (ERS)

  • Knowledge of Osisoft's PI System or similar plant data historian software

  • Understanding of process control hardware and software

  • Report maintenance and engineering/project performance through key performance indicators

  • Experience with managing both Capital and Expense projects

  • Experience working in an agile and collaborative work environment to solve safety and environmental concerns


  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
