We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager! Are you the one?

Footprint Development (FD) is a department within the New Product Introductions (NPI) function under SGRE Blades Operations. We are the first point of contact in NPI when it comes to supporting Operations Management’s scenario planning process, exploring a new plant start-up, extending existing plants and preparing make-or-buy decisions for inhouse manufacturing vs. outsourcing.

FD manages the footprint development programs with pre-activities before launching the execution project as well as the project execution, equipment installation and support during ramp-up of blade production. We have a large stake in the feasibility studies and business cases, including factory layouts, specifications, processes, headcounts, budgets, ramp-up plans, logistics and warehouse setup, cost-out initiatives and risk management.

How to contribute to our vision

As our Senior Project Manager in FD, you will manage the major new plant projects (NPP) and plant extensions in the Blades global footprint. Your first mission will be a US-based factory extension and manufacturing startup, so longer stays in US is mandatory.

As a senior manager, you will act as a mentor for the project managers in the NPI PMO and FD departments. Utilizing your experience and lessons learned from other NPP projects will help to increase the quality of project execution and better mitigate the project risks. In close co-operation with FD’s team of other senior managers, plant and facility experts, workstream leads and your manager.

Your key roles & responsibilities as Senior Project Manager - Footprint Development will be to:

  • Plan and execute selected NPP projects with key interface to our internal program managers, Real Estate and local plant management

  • Establish and secure approval of the project team and project contracts (Pre-CIPO & CIPO) including financial approvals and project steering committee meetings

  • Secure that the NPP is tailored to the specific project and that the project team takes ownership

  • Align project organization and RACI with Operations Management, Real Estate and Plant Management

  • Secure project timeline including milestones and frequent follow up

  • Act as a role model for incorporating the SGRE values and Safety Culture in respect for local culture

  • Act as a trustworthy counterpart to the relevant Stakeholders (project team, Plant Management, Strategy Manager from Operations Management, Real Estate PM and external partners)

  • Establish Risk Management system and reporting structure

  • Align project budget and reporting with Finance and relevant stakeholders

  • Capture cost-out initiatives and lessons learned and secure that they are considered in the upcoming projects

As Senior Project Manager you will be an active part of the entire project lifecycle and ensure that lessons are learned and implemented in future projects.

You are working well under pressure, effectively set clear direction, are flexible and embrace variety and change.

You are ready to travel to the new plant destinations worldwide (i.e. the center of gravity).

On-site presence required during project execution, so you must expect either longer stays on project site or travel days from DK.

You should have relevant degree in Engineering, e.g. M.Sc, business administration degree with technical insight or similar.

Exceptional computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, SharePoint etc).

IPMA B certification level, or similar, expected.

Excellent English skills both oral and written since it is the corporate language of Siemens Gamesa. Danish or German are an advantage.

At least 7 years of Senior Project Management, engineering and new plant startup experience within the wind business or similar businesses are preferred.
