Stellar Industries Inc Chassis Manager in Garner, Iowa

The position of Chassis Manager will involve daily verbal and written communications with Stellar sales, engineering and operations, as well as with customers and chassis suppliers. The position will be a unique mix of administrative as well as managerial duties as described below.


  • In coordination with Inside Sales Manager and Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, responsible for developing relationships with chassis OEM’s and key chassis dealers to promote Stellar and to streamline the ease of conducting business.

  • Develop, maintain and distribute chassis pricing and specifications on stock chassis.

  • Coordinate with Product Management and Engineering regarding standard specifications.

  • Obtain pricing on non-standard spec chassis per RSM’s request.

  • Manage inventory and order chassis as needed, confer with President, CFO, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing and Inside Sales Manager as required including model year changes.

  • Assigns Stellar chassis VIN’s to orders and keeps track of customer supplied chassis.

  • Coordinate customer-supplied chassis status/arrival date with customer, chassis dealer, and production control.

  • Provide info to Purchasing to process PO and receive in chassis.

  • Contact customer for information to process documents on sold chassis.

  • Provide information and coordinate with chassis dealers for documents for end-user customer.

  • Maintain records regarding inventory and sales history on all chassis.

  • Verify inventory for accounting at month end.

  • Provide customer-supplied chassis inventory to accounting at month end.

  • Provide report with chassis on order to accounting at month end.

  • Coordinate recalls/repairs with Quality Department for stock chassis. Send out notice to customer or complete recall card to Ford or Chrysler with sold date and end user info.

  • Communicate and explain as needed with Ford Dealers and RSMs regarding Stellar’s Ford program.

  • Take the lead on chassis audits from finance companies regarding both Stellar stock and customer supplied chassis. This could take place by phone or actual physical visit.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


  • Some overnight travel by car or air is expected which may include week-ends according to relationship development and national trade show needs.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL license is a plus.

  • Must have good understanding and knowledge of vocational chassis and key specifications that affect their use with Stellar® products or the ability to learn.

  • Must have good understanding and knowledge of Stellar® products or the ability to learn.

  • Using courteous and friendly techniques to convey understanding when dealing with outside contacts in person and on the telephone.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Exhibiting a keen attention to detail, when listening to our customers’ needs or concerns and when executing Chassis responsibilities with particular attention to MSO’s and Bills of Sale.

  • Promptly follow-up on incoming calls.

  • Individual must have good computer and keyboarding skills.

  • Individual must have a good understanding of, and show implementation of, Stellar Industries sales & service, policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with entire Stellar organization as needed to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as sales literature, operation and technical service manuals or the ability to learn.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Degree or GED required.

  • BA or BS degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable.
