Job Description:

Job Title: Multi-Store Accounting Coordinator

Department: Accounting

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function:

Responsible for store accounting functions which include cash accountability, accounts receivable, and inventory procedures for multiple store locations. Completes daily bookkeeping processes to ensure accurate information is entering into financial systems of record and any variances are researched and corrected if necessary. Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service to stores, vendors, and other Hy-Vee employees.

Reporting Relations:

Accountable and Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Retail Accounting

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.

  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to stores, vendors, and other Hy-Vee employees who call.

  • Prepares and reviews register check out and cash accountability report to ensure all point of sale information is accurate accounted for and entered into financial systems of record.

  • Reconciles misc. accounts receivable accounts and total store accounts receivable with corporate on a daily and monthly basis.

  • Adheres to company policies and guidelines.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:

Education and Experience:

High School or 6 months to 1 year of similar or related work experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically perform sedentary work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

This is a 40 hour work week position where weekends and holidays are required. The duties of this position can be performed in a general office setting (Helpful Smiles Technology Center in Grimes, IA), fully remote, or in a hybrid environment. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines.
