POSITION SUMMARY
[Sets up and operates sand molder by performing the following duties.

- Fills pattern with sand and chemical from molding machine.
- Sprays release agent on patterns and flasks going on the line.
- Monitor sand as it is curing and adjusts catalyst to obtain proper strip time.
- Calibrate chemicals and sand to maintain proper density.
- Monitor large and small molds for continuous production flow on each line.
- Cleans out machine at the end of each shift.
- Operates mold rollover machine.
- Capable of minor repairs (broken chemical lines, etc.) or preventative maintenance on mold machine.
- Checks sand flow from elevator and add new sand if sand gets to hot or sand is too powdery or soft to the touch.
- Monitors how molds are coming out of flasks, if dry need to spray release agent on them again.
- Ensures correct insulators, risers, and sprues go in each mold.
- Add chills to the pattern if needed.
- Assists in moving large molds onto the line.
- Checks with core maker before putting pattern on the line to verify correct core has been made.
- Changes chemical totes and catalyst barrel when needed.
