C & B EQUIPMENT Service Shop Lead in Hiawatha, Iowa

Description

C and B Equipment, a progressive family-owned company that has grown over 30 years to include John Deere Ag, material handling and power sports locations has an opening for a Service Shop Lead at its Material Handling location in Hiawatha, IA. The Service Shop Lead will coordinate and direct the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while also providing quality repair work. Taking a hands-on approach, this position will work in the shop as well as oversee it. Candidate would look to grow the position into a Service Manager role by developing the shop and technicians.

Essential Duties:

\

  • Assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
  • Appraises repair orders coming into the Service Department and participates in repairs.
  • Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Directs and assists in the diagnosis of equipment problems of technicians.
  • Work side-by-side with technicians in the shop.
  • Coordinates and schedules all in-house technician training.
  • Conducts monthly safety meetings.
  • Arrange for and participate in the re-conditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment.
  • Approves the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.
  • Communicate with the Regional Aftermarket Manager regarding customer complaints.
  • Look to grow the position into the Service Manager role.

Qualifications:

\

  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment, including those used for diagnostic purposes
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair of material handling equipment
  • Ability to work on-call as needed
  • Valid driver\'s license and a safe driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform tasks in support of all job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling
