PURPOSE OF POSITION
To supply each workstation with appropriate work materials in a timely manner, have basic computer skills, and have an ability to read orders/reports. This will also include management of the internal and external raw material storage - properly storing the inventory in location and move incoming material with payloader, forklift, or crane and be familiar with where different types of material are kept/need to be moved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
More specifically, the employee owner will:
Know how to read a tape measure, square/combination square, and calipers
Supply each workstation with appropriate work materials by reading work orders or following verbal instructions to ascertain material or containers to be moved
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, trucks, racks, and shelves by hand, hoist, crane, or forklift/payloader
Operate snow bucket as needed in the winter
Maintain proper workplace organization in the areas served by properly storing components and products without transit damage – Including: moving baskets and racks to and from saws to staging areas
Operate a saw when not bringing in product or unloading trucks. Perform setup and operation of saw for cutting tubes, shafts, and key stock following instructions on job order
Look for continuous improvement opportunities for material handling and product flow through the plant
Perform daily maintenance checks for the forklift/payloader and report non-routine repairs to maintenance personnel or Supervisor
Use and understand various paperwork/reports, including: schedules, prints, and NetLink.
Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
Regularly participate in additional training related to the job and perform extra assignments in other areas and related tasks as assigned
Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance
QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience in production and/or manufacturing or as a QA technician preferred
Must be able to read, write, and speak, so as to properly understand and relay important safety and quality information
Ability to safely and efficiently operate a forklift and other mechanical devices as need to perform the role
Capable of working well with others and maintaining excellent interdepartmental relationships
Readily accepts instruction from management and supervisors and executes effectively
Must be able to take initiative and work independently at times
Needs to be reliable
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
High School diploma or
A general education degree (GED); or
One to three months related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
- Driver and fork lift license

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, repetitively use right and/or left hand for simple/light grasping, repetitively use of right and/or left hand for firm/heavy grasping, and repetitively use right and/or left hand for fine dexterity, and move and/or lift up to 100 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, climb, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, hear, talk, lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear customers and instructions from others.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, work with flammable materials, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level while in the office is moderate and is usually LOUD when in the plant.
