Job Description:

Production Technician - Indianola, IA

This is an hourly, full-time position.

Position Summary:

  • Engage in facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure smooth production operation during shift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with compliance to all applicable OSHA, EPA, and ADM health and safety workpractices, production and material handling procedures

  • Maintains an attitude that accidents are preventable

  • Discusses any safety concerns with supervisor throughout the shift

Job Requirements

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

  • Determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

  • Determine causes of operating errors and provide solutions.

  • Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Determine tools and equipment required to complete job.

  • Repair equipment using proper tools.

  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).

  • Observe gauges, dial or other indicators to make certain the machine is working properly.

  • Ensure a clean and safe work area.

  • Maintain tools and equipment to prevent introduction of foreign materials into production equipment of finished products

  • Conduct tests and inspections of products, services and processes to check quality and performance.

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to OSHA

  • Contribute to company-wide strategic planning efforts

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Preferences:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred with 3-5 years related experience and/or training.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and machinery. Computer; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Physical and Environmental Demand:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull 50+ lbs. Will also require standing, walking, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling

  • Work is performed in a non-climate control factory.

  • Work environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toe work boots, hard hats and any other protective gear.

  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
