Summit Fire Protection, a subsidiary of Summit Companies, is a premier firm in the Fire Protection and Fire Life Safety industry with offices throughout the Midwest and Arizona.We are currently seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team in our Iowa City office, with a focus on fire detection and alarm service and inspections.The successful candidate will be dependable and capable of inspecting, servicing, and maintaining various types of fire detection, fire alarm, and other similar low voltage systems. Related experience is required.Essential Functions:Perform installations, inspections, and service on a variety of fire protection equipment including fire detection, fire alarm, clean agent systems, CO2 suppression systems, etc. Experience with clean agents and other suppression systems is preferred, but not required.Seek out additional sales and service opportunities within existing customer locations, and advise the customer of compliance needs.Develop long term relationships with customers and maintain customer retentionJob Requirements:Mechanical ability and basic hand tool knowledge.Low voltage experienceAbility to lift 75 lbs+, safely use ladders, work overhead and work in tight spaces.Work efficiently with minimal supervisionOrganizational skills are essential for successExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to learn quickly is a must.High school degree or equivalentNICET 1 or 2 license or eligibleCompensation and Benefits:We offer a competitive pay structure time off and optional benefits.
