What Account Management - Distribution contributes to Cardinal Health

Account Management is responsible for managing the success of the relationship with an assigned set of customers in order to achieve the goals and objectives identified by the customer and Cardinal Health. Responsible for long-term relationship building between the customer, Cardinal Health, and other professional organizations (Group Purchasing Organizations, etc). The complexity of the solution, product, or services offered is variable and can range from simple to moderately complex selling.

Accountabilities in this role

  • Manage current prime vendor accounts on product and logistics issues inside channel
  • Strengthen and maintain long-term relationships with key decision maker
  • Maintain and extend contracts to retain channel and drive product mix
  • Collaborate with the broader Customer Service / Field service team to ensure product availability and manage price discrepancies
  • Drive operational effectiveness within accounts
  • Ensure customer compliance to Cardinal360
  • Report to the Distribution Account Management RD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years related sales or account management experience
  • Prior experience specifically in supply chain or distribution account management or in another supply chain related capacity desired, but not required
  • Demonstrate advance knowledge of CAH distribution service
  • Strong process management and customer service skills
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve, negotiate and develop key relationships with existing customers
  • Ability to interface with both internal team members and external customers in a complex matrix environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel 25%

  • Builds and maintains high-level, long-term trusted advisor relationships in moderately complex environments
  • Facilitates/manages processes in a moderately complex matrix environment

  • Applies knowledge of the customer's business to develop optimal solutions
  • Proactively and with a regular cadence demonstrates to the customer the defined value of partnering with Cardinal Health both pre- and post-sales
  • Effectively negotiates and collaborates with the customer and colleagues to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes and achieve consensus
  • Builds and sustains relationships founded on trust with internal and external customers and ensures customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Identifies and qualifies new sales opportunities and develops plans for introducing new solutions through collaborative relationships
