Honeywell SME (Subject matter Expert) High-Risk Safety Trainer


This is a hands-on- highly visible position that services external End User customers, Distributors, and Internal personnel. This SME/Instructor role will be responsible for delivering safety training courses both in-person and virtually as well drive new business development activities. He/She will support course content development, training class logistics, and the leading instruction of approved safety courses. The instructor will coordinate all efforts to ensure the full utilization of the training facility, processes, and resources to meet growth drivers of the training department. This person will implement, deliver, and facilitate training sessions, evaluations, audits and assessments that they may hold at every training location, customer, and job site throughout the Unites States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Coordinates the execution and delivery of instructor-led training

· Conducts in-person & Virtual safety training courses for customers and/or employees.

· Develop customer relationships and promote the Honeywell Training Organization.

· Works with Engineering, Technical Support, Sales and Manufacturing to ensure that course material reflects current product features.

· Develop content & deliver course materials as per the specific course, site/location, and Honeywell requirements.

· Documents lesson plans and mentor other educators.

· Conceptualize and design blocks of training, seminars, workshops, and entire courses, creating hardcopy, electronic, and multi-media presentations.

· Provide and/or manage monthly or annual ongoing/refresher training in topics relevant to the service and service area and in a timely manner.

· Coordinate equipment in support of training purposes as specified in the applicable instructor training programs.

· Formulate learning/teaching objectives, craft and/or revise course syllabi and lesson plans, develop standards to evaluate student products, and conduct needs assessments.

· Provide written post-course evaluations, collect, and provide feedback to students, course instructors, and speakers, and refine presentations based on feedback.

· Interface with customers and functional organizations to develop specifications for content of courses.

· Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation.

· Work site assessments and evaluations.

· Develops monitors and reports on the effectiveness of programs by establishing relevant evaluation metrics and collection capabilities; demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.

· Seeks new approaches and practices to improve the financial goals of the training department and financial drivers of the company.

· Travel, approx. 50%

· Ability to climb at heights (20ft to 200ft) utilizing safety gear


· Fall protection, Safety at Heights experience, 3-5 years experience

· 3+ years training experience (as an adult education/instructor)

· Strong work ethic and a passion for training adult learners

· Excellent verbal & written communication skills

· Understanding of Regulatory Compliance and safety protocols


· ASP or CSP Certification (ASP- Associate Safety Professional CSP- Certified Safety Professional)

· Safety Degree

· Bachelor’s degree

· Course development experience (Use of Articulate/Storyline or other development software)

· OSHA/ANSI safety protocols
