Responsibilities

  • Design Lesson Plans: Trainers will design lesson plans and follow all curriculum requirements provided by their employer and the state where their employer is based.

  • Create Assignments: Trainers assign homework, special projects, and reading assignments to agents tailored to challenging portions of curriculum.

  • Engage Agents During Class: Trainers will be required to encourage agent participation and lead agent discussions to keep them active and engaged in learning. This also includes pausing instruction to conduct “teach-backs” to ensure knowledge transfer.

  • Provide Feedback: Trainers provide feedback to agents and discuss coursework performance.

  • Assess Agent Performance: Trainers assess and monitor individual agent performance in collaboration with training coordinators to ensure agents are keeping up with the curriculum and not falling behind.

  • Maintain Availability: Trainers communicate with agents to provide progress reports and updates through online chat sessions and email. They may also hold online “office hours” so agents can communicate with them at their convenience.

  • Reporting: Trainers track agent attendance and other progress reporting in collaboration with training coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Licensed, ideally in Property and Casualty, Personal Lines or Life and Health with training in these areas or related work experience. If not licensed, will require licensing completion within 30 days of hire.

  • 1-2 years of proven success as an internal and/or external training and development practitioner with experience coaching, mentoring and developing others in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Solid understanding of training processes and practices for adult learners.
