Midwest One Bank Vice President, Lead Credit Officer in Iowa
Oversees the management aspects of the Credit Administration Department including but not limited to analysis, underwriting and related functions. In conjunction with the Chief Credit Officer, acts as the primary reviewer of Iowa and SW Wisconsin credits (Primary Credit Officer). Supervises credit analyst and other credit administration personnel as designated.
Provides senior management with information/report detail regarding credit information, including various written reports for bank management and the board of directors.
Provides input, development and review of Commercial Banking policies and procedures, including the formulation of loan policy and amendment.
Conducts analyses of the bank's credit-related risks, both broad and narrow in scope, through the study of Bank loan data and various economic, industry, and banking trends.
Assesses total risk pertaining to requests for new or additional credit by new or existing customers, primarily through the analysis of financial statements and credit history. Works with Commercial/Ag Bankers in establishing proper credit structure.
Underwrites all types of commercial loans through existing loan policy guidelines.
Approves MidWestOneloans in Iowa and SW Wisconsin and other markets on an as needed basis, per loan policy. Presents to Chief Credit Officer for approval as designated.
Conducts oral presentations and discussions to/with the bank's lending staff, board of directors, and/or customers.
Participates in the planning process for the Commercial/Ag Banking Division.
Assists Chief Credit Officer with designated credits and special projects.
Ensures that credit is in compliance with Federal and State banking laws and regulations
Leads, manages, and provides guidance for the credit analysts in Iowa locations. Reviews structure and workflow of the credit analyst group.
Member of Credit Committees as assigned by CCO; serves as designated Chairperson of select committees as assigned by the CCO.
Member of the Loan Strategy Committee and takes part in all regional past due meetings.
Facilitates or participate in meetings and other training or communication meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:Directly supervises credit analysts in the Iowa region. Carries out all aspects of management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in business required; ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training in a lending, credit analyst, or regulatory role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
