Description

We are seeking a Maintenance HVAC Tech professional that will be based out of our Johnston location. This team member will perform facility repairs and preventive maintenance work assignments as assigned. This will includes a wide range of general maintenance requests up to skilled HVAC.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to all maintenance calls during shift as assigned. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to complete interior and exterior maintenance orders as requested across multiple locations.

  • Perform or monitor preventive maintenance and repair to mechanical systems and controls of all building and site systems. Systems include HVAC, electrical, programmable lighting, photovoltaic systems, security system, fire protection and plumbing. Ensure that company vehicles are properly maintained. May also be assigned general repair and preventive maintenance orders.

  • Regularly inspect all areas of the building and report deficiencies as well as suggestions for improvement/repair. Follow inspection and service procedures outlined in preventive maintenance programs, plans work to be performed and obtain necessary tools, equipment and materials.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding the status and activity of the mechanical operations of the buildings, and promptly report any potential or existing problems.

  • Complete work assignments and record-keeping requirements timely and with high quality.

  • Respond to on-call requirements as assigned, per the on-call rotation schedule.

  • Follow local and state building codes. Demonstrate proficiency in use of equipment and uses equipment safely.

  • Assume responsibility for the maintenance and care of all maintenance equipment and keep the shop neat and clean at all times.

  • If an approved driver, drive ChildServe maintenance vehicles.

What You'll Need

  • High School/equivalent required

  • Universal CFC Certification

  • A minimum of five years’ experience including working knowledge of building. HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and building automation controls is preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others, both verbally and in writing, and foster effective relationships with co-workers, children, and families.

  • Ability to accept and initiate change, have patience and understanding, and work within a team environment.

  • Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and ChildServe business.

  • Work with and safely dispose of hazardous materials including items with potential blood borne pathogens and cleaning supplies/chemicals.

  • Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.

  • This position will be subject to COVID-19 safety requirements. Specific requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
