Wells Enterprises Electrical Engineer in Le Mars, Iowa

Design, develop and maintain electrical systems, understanding of all power distribution networks that support Wells Enterprises, Inc facilities with minimal guidance from outside services. Working closely with power supply companies for upmost reliability, negotiating pricing and implementing cost savings projects.

  • Has direct responsibility for maintaining NEC, NFPA, SCCR compliance at the customer facility(s) and oversees initiatives to get systems or processes into compliance.

  • Coordinates with Supervisors, Technicians, and Planners in root cause analysis on electrical failures, PM programs, and PDM programs. Serves as a resource for electrical issues.

  • Acts as a liaison between the customer facility(s) and Electrical leadership, responsible for the alignment of Electrical activities of customer facilities. Is an advocate for the Electrical department and actively interacts with facility personnel to drive continuous improvement for all systems.

  • Maintains industry contacts and participates in industry trade-groups to stay on the cutting edge.

  • Serve as team member on capital projects and serves as project manager on up to $1.5MM Electrical projects. Duties will include assisting with Electrical distribution layout and design along with construction management, completing all associated documentation on-time and in a detailed and professional manner. Projects over $1.5MM may need assistance in design or managing resources.

  • Develops and drives concepts for improved system safety, maintainability, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Develop and introduce solutions to improve company systems efficiency, specifically regarding energy, maintenance, labor, operating practices, etc. Consistently monitors and analyzes systems performance at customer facilitates and shares out.

  • Knowledge of and technical resource to the company for main switches, transformers, MCCs, and other Electrical systems. This includes making sure all one-line drawings are maintained as changes are made to components in these systems. Understanding of applicable industry codes, and industry standards. Able to troubleshoot complex system issues.
