Description

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring orderly distribution of products, materials, tools, and equipment by pulling from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed. Material Handler also stages finished product final distribution and contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or material storage areas.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Forklift operation to receive, store or distribute material, tools, equipment, and products

  • Develop working knowledge of fast-paced production environment and be adaptable to change

  • Ability to load finished goods onto pallet, van/flatbed trailer by using forklift or telehandler

  • Physically fit with the ability to lift objects, by hand, weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Prepare orders according to order and pallet requirements

  • Written and verbal communication skills

  • Collaborate with all departments maintaining team environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Report inventory discrepancies to Supervisor and/or Scheduling & Materials Manager.

  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas

  • Comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures including timely reporting of any unsafe practices

  • Reporting all incidents including those involving mobile equipment or property damage

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 1 year previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to read, write and use basic math skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments

Working Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

· Work in ambient temperature of production environment

· Daily outside work, in all elements

· Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching

· Frequent moves on and off forklift to move product by hand

· Safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes, and hearing protection are required in all production areas
