Check us out online today!JOB SUMMARYResponsible for expanding end market segments for a portfolio of functional ingredients throughout North America, Central America, South America, and Pacific Rim. Responsible for interactions with global buyers and technical services related departments of customers and new contacts. Travel will be required to fulfill these job responsibilities and overall company goals and objectives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:* Regularly interact with existing customer base including customer visits, product presentations, finished product application research, and creating visit reports.* Develop new and expand existing market segments for product offerings.* Complete sales budgets and quarterly forecasts for domestic and international sales.* Identify ingredients with higher market potential and perform financial modeling to determine potential sales price vs current market(s).* Calculate, prepare, and successfully defend appropriate sales pricing for both domestically produced and imported product lines.* Follow and analyze relevant competing markets and market information including corn, soy, animal by-products, commercial feed, aquafeed, and pet food.* Interact with regulatory group(s) and end customers to determine potential export ingredient opportunities and obtain foreign registrations.* Directly supports Director of Sales with utilizing market intelligence to make proper forecasts based on analysis, trends, and competing products.* Effectively communicate, from a technical or nutritional vantage, benefits of product offerings creating value addition.* Maintain regular insight into consumer trends and changing preferences affording critical reaction and proper product placement and offerings.* Work independently and with customer RandD groups to perform niche market application research and develop and understand suitable labeling options for ingredients.* Conduct project management including arranging customer feeding trials, university research, production testing, stabilization, customer acceptance, etc.* Interact with regulatory group(s) to determine potential imported ingredient applications and obtain import registrations and import permits.* Ensure responsible imported product procurement and accurately illustrate the relationship between actual sales forecasts, history and annual budget, including monthly updates.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor's degree in Animal Nutrition, Agri-business or related field;* Minimum of 5-7 years or more of related experience in client-facing sales role in the pet food or commercial feed industry;* OR, equivalent combination of education and experience.* Must possess pet food ingredient or commercial feed ingredient sales experience.* Must be willing and able to travel internationally and maintain valid travel documents such as a passport or VISA.* Must possess knowledge of commodity style products and markets.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Animal Nutrition experience preferred.* Ability to manage time effectively, work independently and display solid follow up techniques.* Excellent written and oral communication skills.* Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills; works proactively, able
