Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Marion, Iowa

Description Robert Half has a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional at a growing company. You will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. What you get to do every day

  • Test documents and codes

  • Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

  • Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

  • Complete a wide range of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

  • Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers

  • Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization

  • Provide information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders Requirements - Proven knowledge of Cash Collections

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required

  • Solid understanding of account reconciliation

  • Billing experience highly desired

  • Bank Account Reconciliation experience

  • Bank Deposit experience

  • Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
