Emerson Manufacturing Engineer in Marshalltown, Iowa

Emerson is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. The individual selected for this role will collaborate heavily across all levels of the service operations organization to design and implement processes and tools that support Safety, Service Levels, and operational efficiency goals across the five North America Rapid Response Centers at the following locations: Atlanta, GA, Gonzales, LA, Pasadena, TX, Hamilton, ON (Canada) and Edmonton, AB (Canada).

This role will report directly into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be expected to provide valuable, educated insights on projects and processes that will support strategic plans and initiatives for the service organization.

Additionally, you will identify and assist in the application of new procedures and equipment for product manufacture, design the production floor, staff and solution complex and challenging customer requests.

As a Manufacturing Engineer You Will:

  • Support safety and quality program compliance throughout the Emerson and Premier Service Providers organizations.

  • Identify new manufacturing processes and tools to innovate and improve the overall Safety and Performance of Rapid Response Centers (RRCs) as aligned.

  • Develop and implement daily management tools and dashboards to enable effective and efficient prioritization of work.

  • Analyze performance and quality metrics to identify areas for improvement

  • Facilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving teams to implement changes that will drive sustained performance improvement

  • Develop and align machining procedures for consistency across the network and evaluate for continuous improvement.

  • Develop and manage project plans to support the business across all North America Rapid Response Centers.

  • Collaborate with operations team members to understand changing needs of RRCs, develop expert knowledge of projects and solution best process and tool improvements to meet evolving needs.

  • May assist in facilities layout and planning as related to RRC machining projects; providing necessary information for proper documentation of processes and procedures.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s in relevant Engineering discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet education requirement

  • Hands on experience with CAD & CAM software, CNC programming and manual machining

  • Exposure to other manufacturing processes such as Production Scheduling, material planning, Total Preventative Maintenance

  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices, products and equipment.

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to direct and motivate people.

  • Familiarity with Lean process tools, 5S +1, and ISO 9000 Standards.

Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

  • General knowledge of Fisher systems including cost, procurement, standards and routing.

  • Knowledge of Fisher mechanical and electronic products strongly preferred.

  • Oracle experience
