Emerson Manufacturing Systems Specialist - Demand Fulfillment in Marshalltown, Iowa

This position will function as the subject matter expert for processes and systems related to Demand to Manufacturing Release in the Oracle Business System. This role ensures that existing and future business processes align with system best practices and Flow Controls business objectives and Oracle global design. This role will also have responsibility for the management of Retention of Critical Knowledge, Standard of Work, and Best Practice documentation for Global Manufacturing Engineering data.

AS A MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS SPECIALIST, YOU WILL:

  • Using expertise in business functionality along with an understanding of system set-ups to train users in functional business process areas.

  • Work with Site personnel on Material Planning processes, Inventory Setups, and part attributes that impact Inventory strategies.

  • Evaluate Demand Planning and Forecasting models to best plan material acquisition to support order fulfillment.

  • Lead the ATP Scheduling system and Auto Release programs to assure productive use of capacity.

  • Monitor Interco Order processes to effectively integrate cross – site demand and capacities.

  • Continuous improvement of information viewed by Customer Service to provide clear view of Order / Item status.

  • Develop business analytics solutions for Item fulfillment and predictive analysis requests.

  • Audit for alignment to Standards and Best Practices. Advise affected parties of corrections to existing data.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend new system functionality for applicability to Global / Plant Site business requirements.

  • Perform testing to ensure that system changes do not present risk to the Flow Controls Business.

  • Critically evaluate enhancement requests from the business and ensure that solutions are optimized for the global organization and are included in the Flow Controls global design.

  • Work with key collaborators to establish enhancement request justification, business objectives, value, etc.

  • Gather and prepare the functional requirement specifications for enhancement projects, workflow definitions, and deliverables using the Stage Gate and Request for Change (RFC) process.

  • Prepare and/or review supporting documentation for new functionality and enhancements.

  • Work with external consultants to design efficient process changes as requested by business leadership.

  • Plan, lead, and implement approved business process and systems improvement projects.

  • Complete identified business process improvement projects on-time, to schedule and to budget, coordinating resources as necessary for successful implementations.

  • Support Data Maintenance changes to review for Business Process impact and maintenance of the Level 5 Standard (i.e., lookup tables, routings, configurations, etc.)

  • While specializing in Material Fulfillment functionality, develop an understanding of the complete business cycle to assess impact from both Oracle and non-Oracle business systems across cross-track functional areas.

  • Coordinate with all Global Sites on the best resolution of production issues to meet Global Design standards.

  • Support all levels of required testing from an Material Fulfillment perspective, including IAT events.

  • Represent Flow Controls in Perfect Execution Events, OpEx Audit Teams, and Automation Solutions functional teams

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 4 years experience in lieu of degree

  • Experience in Oracle systems, Engineering Data systems

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and inspire change

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 5 years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering in a manufacturing environment using ERP systems

  • Familiarity with data analytic tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Strong business and analytical ability

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing operations processes

  • Proven project management skills and ability to effectively lead multiple priorities

  • Familiarity with production control systems and routines

  • Ability to effectively handle changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately

  • Ability to effectively operate and communicate in any organizational structure
