Emerson Product Customization Engineer in Marshalltown, Iowa

Emerson is currently seeking a Product Customization Engineer. Based in our Marshalltown, IA location, you will be part of a fast-paced, World Area focused team responsible for providing custom solutions to customers’ unique applications used in general, critical, and severe service customer applications. The design engineering work is fast-paced and high-volume specializing in both rotary and sliding stem products.

AS A PRODUCT CUSTOMIZATION ENGINEER YOU WILL:

  • Handle daily execution of orders involving product design modifications, application reviews, and customer interaction for all business units; following established engineering requirements and guidelines.

  • Support quotation and design of modifications to the assigned products for the fulfillment of customer orders.

  • Perform and document design calculations and analysis

  • Create and manipulate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to drive continuous improvement.

  • Assist Sales Engineers with selection of appropriate products for different applications.

  • Work with cross-functional teams including sales, order engineering, and drafting.

  • Work closely with Strategic Product Business Units engineering teams.

  • Provide problem resolution for to include technical applications, product function, and constructions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree is a related technical disipline

  • 3 years of experience in product engineering / development or engineering projects

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and demonstrated experience in their application

  • Effective oral and written communication skills and organizational skills

  • Capable of working on multiple product lines accurately and efficiently

  • Ability to promote a fast paced, positive, customer focused work environment

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • 5-7 years’ experience with Flow Controls in engineering related roles
