Emerson Strategic Marketing Manager in Marshalltown, Iowa

AS A STRATEGIC MARKETING MANAGER you will assist with market analysis, market research, and voice of customer research as applicable to inform marketing strategies.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform Market Analysis

  • Identify and track market dynamics of our core and emerging spaces to include key mega trends. Recommend key areas of investment for the BU to achieve its growth targets.

  • Identify New Market Segments & Adjacent Industries

  • Lead market research efforts to assess new market segments and opportunities to leverage our solutions in adjacent markets. Work across the business to gain alignment on scope and direction

  • Competitive Intelligence

  • Coordinate competitor research with key stakeholders in sales and marketing to include current behavior in various world areas, new product launches, strategic moves, and merger or acquisition activity.

  • Strategy Development

  • Develop strategies with various leaders and stakeholders to support future business growth. Depending on the scope of the project, strategies may apply to a specific World Area, Functional Area, Business Unit, or Business Group.

  • Cross-Business Unit & Platform Initiatives

  • Drive or support cross-business unit growth initiatives or Critical Action Teams as needed.

  • Strategic Planning Support

  • Support the business unit’s execution of the Emerson Planning Process. Assist the Business Unit planning team to prepare for internal strategic reviews for Emerson executive teams and to assist with periodic corporate deliverables.

  • Required Skills - External

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketingor other related fields

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in marketing, business development, planning or relevant experience

    PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • MBA preferred

  • Ability to influence people up and down the organization

  • Strong communication skills including written, oral, and visual media. Ability to provide clear and concise presentations to leadership teams.

  • Analytical mindset to solve complex problems with limited information. Ability to synthesize inputs from numerous and disparate sources to provide clear direction

  • Strategic mindset in approach to business challenges with a strong bottom-line orientation

  • General knowledge of financial reporting parameters and operational indicators
