This is an on-site position that will be based on-site out of our Curries brand in Mason City, Iowa. However, this role will be supporting the entire Door Group.
What would you do as our Associate Product Manager (APM) ?
You will work closely with the Door Group product management team to research, help develop road maps, marketing strategy, competitive pricing, positioning, and messaging. You will also learn how to fully execute the new product development (NPD) process from beginning to end.
You would also:
Help to conduct product and trend analysis, Voice of Customer research, design activities and projects through the stage gate process.
Help to develop product road maps in line with our strategy of innovation and market leadership.
Analyze product category life cycle including continuous analysis of portfolio performance and profitability and recommend appropriate actions including cost reduction through outsourcing or Value Analysis/Value Engineering, price adjustment, rationalization, etc.
Develop an expert understanding of competitors’ product offerings, programs, and pricing. Maintain a robust competitive database including detailed competitive product comparison including features, performance data, and pricing.
Collaborate closely with sales and marketing in the development of technical materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets and videos, product presentations, advertisements, press releases, etc.
Help to manage digital photography database and sample inventory.
Help to manage product development timelines.
Special projects as assigned.
Actively participates in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need :
BA/BS degree in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering or other related field (combined with experience)
1-2 years of product management or technical commercial product experience or multiple internships
Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Project (or another project management / Gantt chart software)
Previous experience in hollow metal door and frames manufacturing a plus
Comfortable handling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Ability to hold others accountable to ensure project deliverables
Ability to communicate effectively and influence your audience via correspondence and presentations
Occasional travel required (US, Canada and Mexico)
