Clary Lake Service, Inc. Dock Helpers/Workers in Milford, Iowa

Clary Lake Service, Inc. is looking to fill Dock Helpers/Workers positions in Dickinson County (Townships: Center Grove, Lakeville, Milford, Okoboji, Spirit Lake), Iowa. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position, and we are looking to fill 12 job openings for employment from April 1, 2025 until November 15, 2025.

Duties: The workers will help crew leaders/dock installers with dock and hoist installation from April 1 through mid-June and dock and hoist maintenance and removal from mid-June through November 15. The workers will be helping with constructing wood plank and aluminum sectional docks utilizing barges. They will be working over the water, carrying dock material from the shore to the dock. They will need to be able to follow instructions of crew leader while paying attention to details. Workers will work with three or four-person teams to efficiently and safely build docks and install hoists to the highest quality level using basic hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, clamps and battery powered tools. The helpers/workers are required to have driver's license class C to drive provided transportation between the worksites in flatbed pickup trucks to carry materials. The workers will perform tasks involving good balance with the ability to walk on 12 wide plank, bending and stretching on a frequent basis. During the slower parts of the season (the time between the install and the removal) workers will assist with deck and step installs and hoist service work on the lake. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work in various temperatures and weather conditions. They must be available to work overtime if needed. No prior education or experience required.

If Clary Lake Service is profitable, there is a possibility of a bonus at the end of the season. The bonus will be based on attendance/absences, work ethic, teamwork and hours worked. The bonus will only be paid if worker works the entire season until the last day. There is no guarantee of a bonus.

Requirements: Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work in various temperatures and weather conditions. They must be available to work overtime if needed. The Dock Helpers/Workers are required to have driver's license Class C to drive trucks between the worksites within 20 miles of the company's headquarters at 602 13th Street, Milford, Iowa. No prior education or experience required.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:20.32/hr, at least 40 hours/week, Mon-Sun, 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. (schedule varies). Overtime is available as needed. Overtime rate of pay is $30.48 per hour. Wages above $20.32 will require past experience at Clary Lake Service and more responsibilities.

Transportation: From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88/day during travel to a maximum of $59/day with receipts.

Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

Tools, equipment and supplies: The employer will provide workers at no charg all tools supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Miscellaneous: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages and pay by-weekly by check. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law. The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. The employer will provide housing as an option to employees living outside the regular commuting distance. Employees who elect to live in the housing will have an additional $120 deducted per by weekly paycheck for the rent and utilities. Daily transportation to and from the worksite will be provided at no charge to the workers.
