TITLE: High School Building Secretary


A High School Building Secretary with Mt. Pleasant Community School District is required to have the following qualifications:

  1. An earned high school diploma.
  2. Other qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:Principal

JOB GOAL:To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the

office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Performs usual office routines
  2. Maintains and update student cumulative folders.
  3. Greets all visitors courteously and maintain a positive office atmosphere.
  4. Operates in a "Windows-based" environment.
  5. Knowledgeable and can perform word-processing, spreadsheet, data base, Internet, and a

networked computer system.

  1. Receives and routes all incoming calls.
  2. Maintains a regular filing system.
  3. Maintains and complete attendance reports.
  4. Complete quarterly, semester and annual reports as needed.
  5. Distribute all building correspondence to the proper people.
  6. Responsible for the finances of the school lunch and breakfast program, registration funds, and student activity fund.
  7. Organize and complete purchase orders, reimbursement forms, and requisition sheets.
  8. Complete accidents report on all injured students.
  9. Administer medication when authorized by the school nurse.
  10. Process and distribute all materials that have been ordered and received.
  11. Maintain students' schedule of classes.
  12. Able to operate copiers, fax machines, intercom system, and computer.
  13. Assist with organizing the student deficiency and efficiency reports.
  14. Correspond with other districts concerning supporting events.
  15. Maintain a calendar for high school building usage.
  16. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the principal.


Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking.


Includes extremes of temperature and humidity.

Hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Directors

PROFESSIONAL The Principal shall evaluate performance of the job annually.
