About the position: Repairs and maintains a variety of complex machines and production equipment. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to others. You will:
- Diagnoses machinery and equipment malfunctions.
- Determines complex repair requirements. Determines if repairs can be done internally or if a supplier must be contacted to complete the repairs.
- Identifies and recommends appropriate parts for required repairs.
- Assembles, installs, and inspects new equipment and modifications to existing equipment. May assist with determining repair specifications for special purpose equipment.
- Repairs and maintains electro-mechanical numerically controlled production equipment, special purpose, production machinery and related equipment.
- May specialize in certain types of machinery or equipment
- Must be able to troubleshoot a variety of machinery and equipment in the Company.
- Required to use hand and machine tools to repair, adapt or reassemble machinery and equipment parts. May on occasion build new parts.
- Performs preventative maintenance as required.
- Must understand and work from various documents such as blueprints, wiring diagrams, machine specifications, etc.
- Follows standard work to complete tasks.
- Supports the Company’s 5S program in an effort to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
- Recommends changes to outdated or ineffective procedures/ processes through the kaizen process.
- Supports Toyota Production System (TPS) driven processes and activities.
- May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Regular attendance in the workplace is required for interaction with others and to support teamwork.
About the schedule:
This position is 3rd shift and will work 10:00pm - 6:30am.
About the work environment:
Works in a factory setting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company policy. For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Driver Certification through the Company and operate the forklift in a safe manner. Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts up to 50 pounds or use cranes/hoists to move heavier materials. Temperatures may be extreme; elevated in the summer, cold in the winter. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.
About you:
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Three or more years of related experience in a factory/warehouse environment is required.
It would be great if you had:
- Broad understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or basic electronic principles and machine operations is required.
- Broad knowledge of the application of belt drive mechanisms, gear trains, welding, cutting, brazing, metals and alloys as applied in repair and rebuild work is required.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is required.
- Some knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) is preferred.
About the total compensation package:
Wage - $22.38 - $29.21 per hour + 15% shift differential. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s experience. Relocation - This position may qualify for relocation.
