As a Member & Community Relations (HR) Development Program Representative you will have broad organizational impact and understanding by experiencing a number of human resource responsibilities during your first two years. You will partner with our human resources team and business leaders to support the process of attracting, engaging, developing and retaining the talent needed to craft and execute strategies that deliver financial results. This will include 3-4 diverse assignments at locations across Muscatine including HNI Corporate HQ, HON and Allsteel corporate offices, the HON and Allsteel Recruitment Center, and an assignment in Leveraged Furniture Operations in an operations/manufacturing environment. All assignments will ultimately aid in developing the following skills:

  • Learn how to adapt and respond to internal and external customers in different environments.

  • Navigate data management and human capital systems needed to support talent and business decisions.

  • Build trust, visibility and credibility with business partners located throughout our organization, by providing support and feedback to Members, Managers and MCR that is accurate, timely, and appropriate.

  • Provide comprehensive recruiting and onboarding support, including exposure to compensation decisions and benefit enrollment.

  • Manage applicant files, candidate travel and communications, interview schedules and track pre-employment items in all areas.

  • Coordinate organizational development efforts including training coordination, assessments and completion of member profiles.

  • Become proficient with policies and procedures associated with HNI’s Member handbook, employment laws, compliance and workplace safety.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of critical information and processes as appropriate for a professional in a human resources function.

  • Create, develop and participate in communication to ensure Members, Managers and candidates are engaged and informed of related initiatives.

  • Lead, plan, coordinate and participate in Member-focused events

  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Individuals considered for this role will be a recent or upcoming graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Strong analytical skills, the ability to multi-task while still meeting deadlines, knowledge of and experience with MS Office applications and email/internet skills required.

Additionally, candidates must have the ability to efficiently and effectively provide administrative support, present information and lead a meeting in a large group setting, and be positive and professional interpersonally.
