Job Title: Foreman Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a Foreman Manager with at least 5 years of experience in the underground sewer and water construction trade. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience running a crew installing water and sewer systems. This role involves overseeing a crew of 3 to 4 members, operating equipment, and ensuring the safe use of machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
Run a crew of 3 to 4 members installing water and sewer throughout Central Iowa.
Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making adjustments as necessary.
Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
Oversee the crew 80% of the time, operating equipment 20% of the time.
Ensure the safe use of machinery and equipment.
Provide clear directions and communicate effectively.
Climb in and out of trenches, manholes, and other confined work areas.
Climb ladders, stairs, and navigate uneven terrain.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in the underground sewer and water construction trade.
2+ years of experience running a crew installing water and sewer systems.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and loaders.
Knowledge of all wet utilities including sewer, water, storm drain, and irrigation.
Foreman or supervisor experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in commercial construction, dirt work, and excavation.
Ability to delegate tasks and manage crew members effectively.
Willingness to unload trucks or pipe and set structures as needed.
Knowledge of operating heavy equipment around utilities.

Work Environment
Our Client provides quality underground utility services to government agencies, cities, municipalities, and developers in Central Iowa. The majority of the workload involves municipalities, focusing on deep sewer and underground utilities. Safety is a top priority, and we operate 100% within OSHA guidelines. We provide safety incentive bonuses and ensure the use of trench boxes and other safety equipment. The work environment includes a dress code of jeans, T-shirt (no sleeveless), and steel toe shoes. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and gloves are provided. The work hours are from 7 am to 6 pm, with no weekend work, but candidates must be open to heavy overtime during the week if needed. The work is local to Ames and Des Moines, with a shop located in Nevada. Candidates must be able to commute within an hour radius of Des Moines.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $73000.00
