Iowa Employer Fabricator/Welder in NEW VIRGINIA, Iowa
Layout, fabricate and weld raw material into component parts and equipment from blue prints and sketches according to company guidelines and quality standards. Ability to program CNC equipment (press brake, plasma cutter). Fill out job time cards in a proper manner. Manually move material, equipment, subassemblies, component parts and equipment sometimes with the aid of a forklift or overhead crane. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. Offer suggestions on ways to improve current methods in production. Follow safety standards and attend classes and meetings provided and/or offered. Assist other cells and departments as required by management. Perform other tasks as directed by management.High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.Trade school or equivalent work experience. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing instructions in the English language commensurate with a minimum 12th grade or higher educational level. Proficient knowledge of fabrication, welding and painting of steel and utilizing the appropriate method of each task based on the steel used. Ability to read and understand blue prints. Ability to set up, operate, and clean all types of manufacturing equipment; i.e. plasma cutter, shear, press brake, press punch, band and chop saws, MIG, TIG, and ARC welders, drill press, lathe, mill, surface grinder, phosphatizer, paint pot systems, and all hand and portable power tools used to complete the job. Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions based upon responsibilities. Ability to work individually and in a team environment. Plasma cutter, shear, press brake, press punch, band and chop saws, MIG, TIG, and ARC welders, drill press, lathe, mill, surface grinder, phosphatizer, paint pot systems, and all hand and portable power tools used to complete the job. Overhead crane, forklift, patterns and jig/fixtures. Computers to run the CNC machines. Ability to re-position 100 pounds. Ability to step vertically 19 inches. Unrestricted movement of all limbs. Ability to hear within normal audiological range of 20 to 25 db. Vision correctable to 20/30. Various odors, fumes and smoke found in a manufacturing environment where metal fabrication, welding and painting occurs.
