QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Good communication skills with the public.

2. Successful experience working with faculty, staff, students and community members. 3. Type a minimum of 60 words per minute. 4. Good skills and knowledge of computer software.

REPORTS TO: Principal

POSITION GOAL: To work with the Principal to communicate the day-to-day information needed to promote the education development of students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attendance – Assist to document tardies, priors, hourly updates from classrooms, attendance letters, and updates database for grades 9-12.

  • Discipline – Contact students, copy detention forms and mail to parents, type, file and mail letters to parents, and build database on suspensions for students in grades 9-12. Monitor students for serving detentions before school.

  • Padlock and Lockers – Assist to assign, replace, issue and document the padlocks and lockers of individual students in grades 9-12.

  • Drivers Education – Register and collect fees for driver education classes.

  • Programs – Design the Commencement, Academic Night and Awards Night programs. The Academic Night data needs to be issued and formulated for eligible students.

  • Enrollment – Be responsible for the monthly reports of students enrolled in the school. This includes the updated senior class lists from the Clarke Learning Center.

  • Emergency Response Communicator – Be responsible for the emergency response need in the appropriate procedures.

  • Transcripts – Update transcripts each semester for grades 7-12. Mail all transcripts to colleges and military at appropriate times throughout the year. File all information about class rank and grade point averages each semester.

  • Honor Roll – Send honor rolls to the newspaper.

  • Letters – Type and mail all written correspondence from the guidance office.

  • Standardized Tests – Assist guidance counselors with ACT, PSAT, PLAN, ITED and ITBS tests.

  • Emergency Response Communicator – Be responsible for the emergency response need in the appropriate procedures.

  • Follows and embodies the districts missions, vision, and belief statements.

  • Miscellaneous Duties – Any duties assigned by the principal that is in the best interest of the students.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year established by the Board of Education. Salary and benefits determined by employee handbook.
