Test Engineering Manager
Primary responsibilities include oversight and direction of product- and system-level testing for a wide variety of lighting-related electronic products including LED light fixtures, power systems (drivers), control systems, and communication networks. This includes supervising and mentoring test engineers and technicians, managing department budgets, and developing project schedules. In addition to management functions, this position will also have technical responsibilities for developing test plans, selecting test equipment, reviewing test plans and test results with project stakeholders, and maintaining procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the technical staff.
Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum of ten years of experience in a product testing role. Preferred candidates will have at least five additional years of experience in an engineering management role with budgetary and supervisory responsibilities. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates with experience working in either an NRTL performing safety certification testing on electronic products or an accredited TCB lab performing EMC testing.
Successful candidates will have the ability to plan and direct work on multiple testing programs simultaneously. Strong analytical ability, methodical approach to problem solving, attention to accuracy and detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also a must. Additionally, must be able to deal with frequently changing priorities and demonstrate professional conduct toward other team members, including corporate leadership, even in stressful circumstances.
