Job Summary

The Corporate Accounts Manager develops and maintains strategic and effective relationships with nationally and/or internationally based customers. This position generates and develops new leads, creates solution-based sales strategies and provides world class customer support with an entrepreneurial spirit. This role collaborates with our dealers and coordinates internally with the production, marketing and product development teams to develop new business within existing accounts and increase market share in the industry overall.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors.

  2. Promote Vermeer equipment sales and service with assigned Corporate Accounts in a specified market group (Contractor/Rental, Underground Utility, Pipeline, Mining, Biomass/Recycling, Waste, Tree Care, Landscape).

  3. Develop and implement strategic, productive, and trusting relationships with key decision makers and leaders with large, national customers to identify and execute opportunities to enhance overall partnership.

  4. Develop solution-based sales strategies and service processes that are customer centric, managed effectively and efficiently and demonstrate a high sense of urgency in fulfilling customer requirements. Execute voice of the customer activities to discover customer needs and analyze opportunities, trends and threats with each customer and in the industry overall.

  5. Manage planning concerning inventory needs, sales projections, equipment demonstrations and training to all assigned Corporate Accounts.

  6. Effectively communicate information concerning sales plans, customer needs, product performance, training programs and similar matters. Interact with dealers and product support personnel to handle customer issues and/or to coordinate joint sales efforts in the field.

  7. Develop and implement marketing and sales account strategies; calculate sales projections and profitability scenarios.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years' previous experience in account management including servicing, supporting, and selling to large organizations.

  • Sales experience in the construction equipment and/or manufacturing industry required; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous international sales experience preferred.

    Other Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the heavy construction industry specific to the accounts and industry assigned; knowledge of the Vermeer dealership network.

  • Demonstration of effective sales skills with knowledge of the customers’ businesses and buying cycles and the competitive market(s).

  • Ability to develop strong, ongoing customer relations through effective communication and thorough understanding of the customers’ needs and business habits.

  • Demonstration of self-reliance, ability to judge situations correctly and execute appropriate action.

  • Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical concepts, especially as they apply to calculating discounts, profit margins, Vermeer pricing templates and leasing calculations.

  • Demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate across all levels of an organization; ability to communicate customer’s and department’s needs and goals to senior management; ability to communicate to a diverse clientele base; ability to make presentations to the highest-level audience.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with attention to detail; ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents; ability to understand SOP documents and information.

  • Ability to be informative and provide professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers; ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.

  • Increased knowledge in the area(s) of customers’ business activity, industry-related activity, financing programs and maintenance programs.

Up to 70% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
