Work Shift

1 - First Shift

Are you the type of person who likes to get out into the field and get their hands dirty? If so, come and functionally test our f electrical/electronic control systems. Apply your knowledge of control systems and testing practices to develop and execute verification and validation plans. In this role you will analyze system requirements and develop and execute a verification and validation plan. Control system testing will span from virtual to physical test environments including Model In the Loop (MIL) testing, Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing, and on-machine integration testing. We’re looking for someone who will be responsible for execution on machine test and automated tests on our virtual test simulators (MIL and HIL). The E/E System Test Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining those environments by performing electrical and software updates to simulators and machines.

What You’ll Do

  1. Integrate, test, and debug moderately complex embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems, including supporting production and service.

  2. Provide technical documentation related to embedded control software and system testing.

    1. Assist in the analysis and review of system and software requirements to ensure they are testable and have defined acceptance criteria.
  3. Develop verification and validation solutions for new product design.

  4. Create test harness solutions for new and existing projects related to testing and validation.

  5. Collect machine data in the testing of E/E system features and functions.

  6. Develop detailed testing reports that include data analysis and recommendations.

    What We’re Looking For

  • ​ Two-year technical college degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural or Electrical Engineering or related fields. Or four years of related experience.

    • Knowledge in control system theory and applications.

    • Knowledge of software development practices and working as part of an agile scrum team.

    • Preferred knowledge in the communication protocols of CAN and J1939.

    • Ability to understand needs of customer and incorporate into functional testing requirements.

    • Ability to analyze, develop and write test specifications.

    • Familiarity with DC electrical systems and design.

    • Experience with test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.

    • Experience with testing with MIL and HIL simulators.

    • Ability to lead others that do not report to the position to produce results, including technicians and production personnel.

    Travel

  • Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
