Are you the type of person who loves both getting your hands dirty and getting to explore new technology? In this role you will assist the Manufacturing Systems Team in its pursuit of Industry 4.0 by creating a next generation, digital manufacturing backbone. We’re looking for individuals who can help deploy new technology, automation and data systems into all of our manufacturing plants.
What You’ll Do
Tie the digital thread throughout manufacturing by developing apps and systems that allow for both manual and automated data collection throughout production.
Automate specific manufacturing tasks and processes using robotics, software and other technology.
Integrate disparate systems and processes from multiple plants into one common digital system.
Inform team members how to work best by developing systems that provide instructions for our team and reporting on how we are performing.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field or Computer Science.
Experience and enthusiasm to work in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages and willingness to learn new languages on the fly.
Experience with data reporting tools including Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate) and knowledge of how to effectively present information gathered in those tools.
Knowledge of manufacturing automation and robotics (PLC and API programming), SQL database programming, enterprise resource planning and product lifecycle management systems a plus.
Work Location
ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
