This develops application framework and drives the integration of best practices, reusable components, and common system throughout the assigned area, while ensuring platform compatibility across the organization infrastructure and solution initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization's business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.2. Supervise product development and design activities through direct contact with design teams including but not limited to designing architecture, software and data needs, ensuring required testing is performed on new and redesigned products, interpreting test results, documentation etc.3. Communicate with the related stakeholders regarding project and system/software/data release plans.4. Support the strategy and architecture for connected machines and align with strategic IT initiatives that relate to product needs.5. Ensure that project goals, such as test plans, production preparation plans, and product performance plans are met. Make appropriate development plan adjustments as needed.Education and/or Experience- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Control or related discipline with at least 8 years previous experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.Computer Skills- Ability to proficiently use source code editors and IDE, compilers, software revision control, feature and bug tracking software, XML definition, and product design software.- Embedded: C, C++, Matlab, ROS, Linux, and Windows CE or- Mobile, PC and Web: C++, C#, JavaScript and HTMLOther Skills and Abilities- Ability to design, develop and launch integrated software solutions.- Demonstration of strong verbal, written and collaborative communication skills.- Ability to demonstrate to team member, customers and dealers the product's design purpose and problems designed to resolve.- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.- Ability to calculate complex algorithms, troubleshoot the software product and design various tests.- Ability to coordinate product development activities to release successful products from a performance standpoint.- Ability to contribute ideas for machine/product improvements.TravelUp to 25% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.(*LI-RP1)All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or veteran status.
